KAPPA KISSES

Our spring Philanthropy event was extremely successful! Members of our sorority sold "Kappa Kisses," which are bundles of hershey kisses that can be sent anonymously to other Bucknellians. We raised just over $500 from delivering Kisses on Valentine's Day! We donated our proceeds to Reading is Fundamental! We would like to thank everyone for their support and hope you enjoyed sending/receiving Kappa Kisses! Mwah!

READ-A-THON

March 1st marks the kickoff for National Reading Month. This March, Kappa hopes to involve the greater Greek community in collaborating in a Read-a-thon with Milton Head Start. Head Start is a federally funded program for preschoolers that serves families whose income is under the poverty level. They provide a 5 hour a day preschool education, vision and hearing screenings, two meals each day, transportation to and from school, and they aid with families' needs, at no cost to families. Their goal is to get each child and family ready for Kindergarten since these children are at a disadvantage before they even start public school.  During the week of March 19th through the 23rd, Kappa wishes to send a "team" each day to read to the kids at Milton Head Start. These teams would be composed of approximately five individuals from each Greek organization. When at headstart, we will read the book of the day, play games, craft, and help the students pick a book to take home from our collected donations. 

Relay For Life

Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We’ll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we’ll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others. Our sisters will be walking on April 6th, 2018.
